Terms of service

These terms are an agreement between you, the merchant who installs Afterglow, and AndrewTechful (“we”). By installing or using Afterglow you agree to them. They sit alongside Shopify's own terms, which also apply to your store.

1. The service

Afterglow adds blocks such as a survey, order tracking, a referral code and custom messages to your store's Thank you and Order status pages. We may improve or change features over time.

2. Plans and billing

Afterglow has 3 paid plans, each with a 14-day free trial. Charges are billed through Shopify every 30 days, appear on your Shopify invoice, and follow Shopify's billing terms. You can change plans or cancel at any time from the app. When a plan ends, its blocks stop showing to customers.

3. Your responsibilities

  • You are responsible for the content you add to blocks.
  • You will use Afterglow lawfully, and tell your customers how you use their information, for example in your store's privacy policy.
  • You won't misuse or try to disrupt the service.

4. Data processing terms

For personal information about your customers (“customer data”), you are the controller and we process it on your behalf. We will:

  • process customer data only to provide Afterglow's features to you, as described in the privacy policy, and never sell it or use it for our own purposes;
  • collect only the minimum data those features need;
  • respect each shopper's consent choices;
  • keep customer data confidential, encrypt it in transit and at rest, and limit access to what's needed to run the service;
  • use only the service providers listed in the privacy policy, under obligations that protect the data;
  • help you answer your customers' access and deletion requests, which Shopify forwards to us automatically;
  • delete your store's data when you uninstall, or when Shopify asks us to;
  • tell you without undue delay if we become aware of a security breach affecting your customer data.

Customer data is stored in the United States. If laws in your region require additional terms for this processing, contact us.

5. Availability and liability

We work to keep Afterglow available and working correctly, but it is provided “as is”, without warranties beyond those required by law. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim relating to Afterglow is limited to the fees you paid for it in the three months before the claim.

6. Ending the agreement

You can stop at any time by uninstalling Afterglow. We may suspend or end access if these terms are breached. Sections 4 and 5 continue to apply to anything that happened before the end.

7. Changes

We may update these terms. The date above shows the latest version, and continuing to use Afterglow after a change means you accept it.
